$4 accessory stand

This stand cost me $4 and all times came from dollar general. If you have old plates, bowls or glass you can use those also.

What’s needed:
2 plates
1 martini glass or wine glass
1 glass cylinder
Epoxy or super glue

1. Apply glue to bottom of martini glass and place at center of 1 plate and apply firm pressure.

2. Carefully apply glue to the rim of the martini glass. Align the center of the 2nd plate with the rim and place down with a little pressure.

3.Last step simply place cylinder in the middle of the 2nd plate or you have the option to glue it down. I chose not to glue mine since I will be putting earring in and it gives me the option to dump the contents and sort.

All done and ready to use. I would say give an hour or so to let dry but I was so anxious to use it, I got started piling things on. Since I didn’t wait for it to dry I was very very very very careful with placing it where it will live in my closet and piling things on. Now it is set up and I don’t plan on moving it anytime soon. It can dry properly. I am convincing my self the extra weight will make it dry better and the glue stick even more. Laughing out Loud.

My Mishap Making

I was scanning pinterest for pins and came across one for coconut butter. The process sound very simple, and money saving. I headed to the store to get the coconut flakes to start my journey to creamy bliss. I used my friend vitamix blender because it says using a fast pace machine cut the time down to 3 minutes verses 10 to 20 in a standard.
The start of the Mishap:

I put the flakes in the blender and waited. I brewed tea, ate a cookie, had some laughs. Checked on the mix still no butter. I remember that the person said it was a test in patience so I washed some dishes, cleaned the counter, checked out dog adoption sites. Checked back still no creamy bliss. Google time, I start reading all the different blog, sites and etc about making this and after 20 articles (no exaggeration) I realize the problem is the error of using sweetened coconut flakes. In all the post read no one gave the detail of which flakes to use or not use. Well all coconut flakes are not made equal and for what ever reason sweetened will not cream into butter no matter how long you run the blender or food processor.
But of course I bounce back from my errors so I turned these flakes into snack bars.

Recipe:
1 cup oatmeal
1cup all purpose flour
Handful of flax seed (optional)
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 tbsp salt
1/4 tbsp baking powder
5 tbsp of melted butter or oil of choice
1 large egg

9×11 brownie pan
Foil longer pan to hang over the sides
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl
Stir eggs and oil/ butter until well mixed
Pour into dry ingredients, mix with fork until all items are well incorporated.
Pour batter in pan spread evenly and bake on 350 for 20 minutes.
Last step

take out the pan lifting with the foil and let cool on a rack. Once cool cut into 16 square

I had trouble with the cutting into squares part so I broke them off in chunks and stored in an airtight canister

Michigan Neck Warmer

My husband will be heading to the North Pole. Well not really the North Pole where Santa and the Misses reside, but any state that gets snow is equivalent to the Pole when you live in Florida. I am excited to knit him a scarf because I normally only get to make hats. I found a very simple masculine stitch for him to sport on his visit to the pole.

I wasn’t able to get a clean clear shot of my WIP (work in progress) so I borrowed a pic to give an idea of what I am making. I am using a basic seed stitch,50 stitch cast on with two strands of recycled #1 weight yarn wound together. The stitches work through my fingers like water over rocks; it’s so smooth and calming.
