Starting Famous Frocks

Bette Davis is the first woman who is highlighted in famous frocks! I am very excited to get to know her and the movies she starred in! The iconic dress featured is very similar to this one. I am very excited to sew it.

Salt Clay Tags

image

The logo stamped tags are finally complete after days of drying, lacquering, and drying again! This was a nice experiment to try different tags for my knit and crochet items. I have been trying out different methods to see what works best for my vision. I really like the look the holes the salt make when dried.
The last set of tags were made using shrink dinks. That was fun watching them shrink and curl in the oven. I like those best for clothing since they are clear, and can be placed on various fabric! I also learned that using reversed image printing on the draft setting is the best method for getting uniformed tags. The draft setting is to make sure the ink doesn’t smear on the sheets. Such things can only be learned with trial and errors but now I got the method down I like punching out the shrink dinks and baking them!
The next experiment will be using polymer clay to determine look and ease of making compared to the salt clay method! Stay tuned for that one!

The pendant made on Sunday is finally dry. The pure joy that comes from completing an idea into an object that is tangible is unexplainable. Creation is my drug of choice and I can never to get enough! Until Next Time Love & Happiness!
